Napa Pinot Noir Adastra Regulus Pinot Noir from the 2005 vintage has aromas of strawberry, cinnamon bark, earth, and forest. On the palate this Napa pinot noir provides strawberry, cherry and clove with a pleasing brightness. It's a delicious, medium-bodied wine. The main body of the wine comes from a field selection named for Joseph Swan, who brought in the original Budwood from Burgundy. Although finicky even by Pinot standards, Swan can produce mouthwatering wines that showcase terroir and combine fruit, undergrowth (“sousbois”) and spice in a unique way among Pinot Noir grapes. Adastra Regulus Pinot Noir Wine takes its name from the brightest star in the constellation Leo. This wine spent 15 months in French oak barrels. Only 336 cases produced.

Adastra strives to produce intense, complex wines that capture the essence of its twenty-acre, CCOF-certified organic vineyard -- a unique combination of fog, soil, grapes and stars in the Napa Carneros.
